if you know of any company that is currently hiring, please let me know.
i was told when i got to work this morning that i wasn't "a good fit" for post dunwoody. the most ridiculous reason... i didn't eat with the others at lunch so i wasn't a team player.
of course, i beg to differ. i've filled in at four other properties in my ninety days... sat in on marketing meetings for a co-worker... leased three apartments outside post dunwoody.
i'm still in a bit of shock and am already looking for another job although i plan to fight to keep this one. i loved my job and post. i'm not sure where this came from as i had no warning whatsoever.
did i mention that i also just received a 100 on both my phone and in-person mystery shops?
sa la vie.

waiting on the rain...
poor new orleans... man, are they going to be devastated. this storm reminds me of 1994 when hurricane alberto stalled over north georgia causing devastation to south georgia. cities were basically wiped off the map, my family's hometown being one of them. they certainly need our prayers and, in the future, our help.
on a selfish note... tom and i are supposed to go the game tonight but i'm really expecting it to be rained out. maybe not but i think so. they'll have to make it up and i'm off tomorrow if they decided to do a double header... but, guess what? it'll probably be raining tomorrow, too. sa la vie.
this weekend was rather uneventful. i went out friday and saturday but had a mathew day sunday. believe it or not, i cleaned my whole loft! it's spotless. well, almost. i still have to mop. i decided at 2:30 this morning it'd be best to go to bed rather than mop.
niki called yesterday... we had an awesome conversation for almost an hour. it's amazing to know that no matter where we are or what we're doing... no matter who we're with... no matter what, we always pick up right where we left off. she wants to come to party with me soon. that'll be a riot. i'm thinking i'm gonna head to athens to see her soon, too. she says we have to go to a georgia game -- i've never been.
i'm at peachtree hills today. not too much going on.
i'm not sure what we're gonna do about the super supper summit this week. james had other plans on wednesday and thursday is not a good night for several people... i'll probably end up hosting it at my loft... it's clean, after all. it doesn't stay that way long, ya know!
more later.

finally, a lease!
alright! the past two weeks have been crazy at work. i was negative two leases last week and had zero the week prior.
finally, this morning, i get my first in three weeks. crazy!
i need to clean my loft. hell, i need to finish painting it. i'm thinking about selling my bedroom suite, too, so if you want it, call me. i need something - or want, maybe - something smaller.
i went out to hoe down's last night. you know what they say about hoe's... haha. anyway, i had a really good time. near the end of the night, i was dancing by myself, by myself on the dance floor. it was fun. i was doing like the poem says... dance like no one is watching.
i am in the process of refinancing my blazer so that i can keep up the payments and protect my credit. i'm really doing well on getting things paid off and getting to where every twenty-six-year-old should be. maybe that big r-word is beginning to apply to me after all?
i saw where walb was sold to the company who owns wfxl. they're notoriously cheap... i hope that doesn't affect the staff at walb too drastically. i haven't heard from any of them in sixteen years so unless i read about it, i don't know how i'd know.
i'm really bored. think i'll go smoke. i'm gonna quit one day. not this one, though.

i'm dreaming about him, now...

o.k. so i guess i'm officially a francouer "freak". haha.
when i got off work yesterday (the traffic was awesome, btw) i went to wendell's to eat and decided to take a nap before the braves 8:05 game. just a short nap, supposedly, since it was after seven already.
i didn't wake up until after ten... and after having the weirdest dream. here it is:
i was at a braves game (imagine that) and was there early to see batting practice. i was wearing my gym pants and a long-sleeved, blue thermal shirt and flip-flops. jeff comes over and i ask him to autograph a baseball (in real life, it'd be my third autograph).
not only does he do that, but he also invited me into the dugout to meet the other players. i was excited but kept asking him, "where's smoltzie?" jeff told me he was inside the stadium signing autographs for other people.
without asking, jeff reached back and tugged me along into the locker room (i think). it was some big open space with tables arranged in a weird way and topped with lapel pins, the kind people exchanged at the olympics. i still didn't see smoltz.
i once again asked where he was and jeff told me he was in the back. before i could say another word, he again lead me to smoltz and to the front of the line where i got his autograph as well.
then i woke up, dammit.

super supper summit
if you didn't make it, you didn't eat good! (jennifer, i know that's not correct grammar...) tom outdid himself on the spaghetti... oh, wait a minute! tom didn't cook!!!
actually, he did prepare it but he seemed to slip into two bottles of chardonnay before we could pull him out so i finished off the dinner... i only needed to watch the sauce simmer and boil the noodles... while wendell prepared the salad and cut b-a-n-a-n-a-s. then i baked a banana pudding.
there were nine or ten of us... some people couldn't make it... and we all had a great time. it was nice to be able to talk to one another outside of a bar. more than that, it was nice to hear one another outside of a bar.
it was a hit so we're gonna do it again... and again until no one comes. or, i could just show up and make people cook, i guess?

"the natural" on the cover of sports illustrated
read it here.
wow. things have been nuts. i've downloaded my web site. that's the good news. the bad news is... everything is royally effed up! i mean every page has something wrong with it. i have no clue what but something happended.
i'm working on it, though. i've been wanting to re-arrange my picture pages so now i have no excuse. in fact, i've changed some already. also... especially good news to my "old" friends (haeli)... i've put back up pages that i had taken down by accident.
still to come are atlanta pride, my birthday, july 4 and several baseball games. my soap box was all re-formatted so that has to be re-done. as you can tell, it won't be easy or fun or quick. be patient. i'll try, too.
so, the supper club starts tonight. we're eating at tom's although several people can't show for prior obligations. i'm not sure where we'll be next but i am excited. i think it will be a lot of fun. maybe we'll learn something about each other rather than only what we drink in bars.
congrats (late) to lee on passing his check ride. he's the newest pilot in atlanta! jessica better hold on for the ride... ; )
jennifer, you're back in the will but not fully. call me again.

i'm bored...
nicki is sitting here giving us brain teasers. that's how slow it is today. i've had several internet leads and a couple traffic. nothing too much, though.
hmmm... jessica is now my roommate for a week or so. she's interning at children's hospital until november. as soon as lee passes his check ride (which should be tonight -- good luck!) she's gonna move in with him. they make me sick.
i think i'm going to tom's tonight to work on my web site and watch the game... i guess i should call to see if that's alright.
jennifer fudge... you best call me. i'm re-arranging my will and you're not in it.

he finally walked...

so we all went to the braves game yesterday. again. tom, tim, wendell, christine, kristin, jessica, jamie, yonnathan, kurt and toby. it all started around five around a grill and big 'ole green tent. i hear there was alcohol and great burgers...
the game, as usual, was awesome. tom and i had seats right behind the visitor dugout. definitely some of the best seats we've had. tom is hooked. i've always been.
jeff francoeur, as i photographed him last night on the right, was walked for his first time ever. dammit. sure, it had to happen sooner or later but it was an intentional walk. what is that??? cheap! oh well, he hasn't walked otherwise. i doubt it will happen again for a while unless it's another intentional.
this blog just started allowing me to add pics to my posts... that's awesome, especially since it seems i always have some. i sware i'm going to start adding pages to my web site and updating it. several people have told me how "boring" it has become. interesting.

weird... but cool
i was just checking to see how the polling was going on http://ilovefrancoeur.com/ when i learned something really interesting.
one of the only stories i know about my father (he was killed when i was two) was that he absolutely loved baseball. he was a very talented pitcher and was feared on the diamond, i was told. the other thing people loved to tell me was that he could throw a baseball over the tallest portion of the baker county courthouse... strong arm, i guess.
well, everyone knows my fascination with jeff francoeur lately.
maybe it's because he shares my dad's birthday, january 8?

i'm so excited... i just cain't hide it...
sorta... that's the song that's on and this post will be so full of random stuff, i couldn't find an appropriate title.
i went straight to sleep yesterday when i got home. it was one of those days where you do nothing but you're totally exhausted because of that. i woke up around nine or so and hung out with yonnathan at starbucks... finally, at two, we went home. it's funny - and nice - that when you're having great conversation and fun that time flies.
then again, it'd be nice if it would take a little slower so that you could enjoy more.
one reason i was so exhausted was actually many things, the most noteworthy being:

one reason i was so exhausted was actually many things, the most noteworthy being:
- a friend's baby choked to death at daycare. the child was less than a year-old.
- a guy leslee and jennifer went to school with either committed suicide or died from a reaction to drugs.
- a guy we went to church with and leslee is close to was involved in accident, which killed someone and was charged with manslaughter.
- other friends are sick.
- i'm broke.
when it rains, it pours, they say. i say it's a freakin' downpour. a storm.
i'm hungry. (random, i tell ya.)
i look nice today... black shirt, grey pants, green tie. maybe i just feel like i look nice.
the braves won yesterday... again. jeff got an rbi, his 23rd in 24 games... he's hit in the last 12 games and still hasn't walked. i am predicting he won't until after at least his 100th game.
i need to work... more later.

working on my web site...
there's no way i'm at work and not working... none. i'm filling in at post oglethorpe today and it's terribly slow. i'm looking out the window at the pool, which is just screaming for me to jump in. i have only been in the pool, i think, once this year. that's not normal.
i transferred over most of my addresses from my old gawriterpalmer account to the web site account. this weekend i will dedicate time to putting up picture pages that are long overdue. expect an e-mail from me to let you know when it's completed as well as a link to update all your info, such as birthdays, anniversaries, snail mail address, etc...
christine and i went to see the braves whip up on the giants last night. we sat on the lexus level, which are excellent seats, behind home plate. it's a little higher than i like but the view was great. my boy, jeff, was perfect last night: four-for-four! he's amazing. "the natural" i'm jealous a bit... ok, a lot.
i sit here thinking... was this the same way mickey mantle started out? what about babe ruth? did the fans of their time just think, "hey, this is just another kid from down the street?" did they automatically assume that at some point the streak would end and their games would fall in line with every other player?
when do you stop believing that jeff is going to be the next mickey... babe... phil...? i'm not. besides, i have a year-old autographed ball with his original number (12)... it's my retirement account. ha.
to get a bit sappy... i was in a very good mood last night. while at the game, there were these two guys on the jumbo tron who made me think... judging by their hair cuts, mustache, clothing choice and mannerisms, i assumed they're from the country, probably lower class people.
anyway, i told christine the fact that they were on the jumbo tron probably made their night. we take for granted sometimes the luxuries we have. for those two -- and i am just assuming -- may have had to save for weeks to come to the game. it may be the only one they could afford this year.
i guess my point is that we shouldn't judge people... and we shouldn't take things for granted. my mind works in mysterious ways. that's just one of the weird thoughts that came from it's cavity.
i am broke. did i mention that? (another random thought, brought to you by my mind.)
i had a really good conversation with a new friend last night that made me feel real good about myself and some of the decisions i've had - or chose - to make lately. it's also made me realize that there are some more things that i have to address, sooner than later.
i failed to mention that after the game we went to blake's to watch family feud... blake's whipped up on charlie brown's cabaret but both teams were good sports.
it's amazing to me that just a few weeks ago miss ruby redd was bad-mouthing charlie brown, namely about her weight loss and low amount of patrons at her new flagship cabaret, because last night sugar would not have melted in her vile mouth.
she hung over charlie like a school girl does her first boyfriend. cut-downs were thrown out against raven, another entertainer that intimidates her, obviously.
having issues with others is alright. hell, we're human and it's expected, natural. but why be a two-faced bitch about things? if that's your opinion, keep it. when you feel one way and you change it makes me believe two things: first, you're a liar. and second, you're a scared-ass, insecure, two-faced, fat, ugly, bitch.
that's just my opinion.
expect another rant, too... i'm working on a page concerning lamar outdoor advertising and the decision of at least one manager not to display "gay" billboards in south georgia. i can totally understand it having been reared there but have a lot to say about it.
it's after one o'clock. i'm going to lunch.

working on saturday sucks...
...as does having a migraine headache, which -- knock on wood -- is finally gone. i hate taking medicine but this past week i've kept the makers of excedrine, goodys and aleve in business. if you've never had one, you're lucky. if you i have, i feel for ya.
this week has been a little lazy. of course, i'm coming off my birthday celebration, which lasted more than two weeks. i had to work six days this week, too, on top of that monster i just mentioned.
did you see the braves game last night? ugh! it was a mess. i was all in the mood for a pitcher's dual (my favorite part of the game) but it ended up being a "we can still win..." feeling. i'm a fan to the end so even with two outs in the bottom of the ninth, eight runs behind, i still was believing. then i went to burger king.
i made it out to the rail-lined dance floor last night but only made my rounds a couple times. the lights and noise proved too much. i rested well afterwards although i dreamedof my grandmother, my mom's mom, and she looked awesome, walking in the yard.
then, i dreamed i was almost killed. i was with raven cleaning out her old house. when i was leaving, i opened the door to find two rifles leaning against the steps and this man rushing me back into the house. i thought about running but couldn't. he pointed the rifle at my temple and was about to pull the trigger when i sat up in bed. talk about weird. i never have nightmares...
alright, i need to work.
