breaking news...

Coretta Scott King, who turned a life shattered by the assassination of her husband, the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., into one devoted to enshrining his legacy of human rights and equality, has died. She was 78.

Former mayor Andrew Young broke the news during a phone call he made to the "Today" show. Young was a former civil rights activist and who was close to the King family. Asked how he found out about her death, Young said: "I understand she was asleep last night and her daughter tried to wake her up." (from ajc.com)

i always wondered... where will she be buried since mr. king is entombed alone?

My Dad broke the news to me. We think we might have some mystical connection to the family. I share Martin Luther Kings birthday, Dad shares, Coretta Scott Kings Birthday, and my Grandparents on his side share their wedding anniversary. Just some trivia I learned.
Another hero gone.

she is indeed a hero, just as her husband was.

one of the stories i wished i had done while i was in t.v. was a recap of mlk's time in albany, georgia, my hometown.

he was jailed there and wrote some of his memoir while incarcerated.

as far as the connection, while you guys share important dates, i believe we all share something with them.

personally, i believe that i share the interest for everyone to get along. for everyone to be treated fairly. for everyone - truly - to be judged by the content of their character, not the color of their skin.

there's been a lot of contreversy within the king camp as of late... i hope that mr. and mrs. king's legacy will love on... through their children and through each one of us.
